Meet the Doctor

Dr. Vijay Singh DDS, BDS, MDS(Ind)

Dr. Vijay Singh (DDS,BDS,MDS(Ind)) completed his Bachelor of Dental Surgery (India) in 2005 and Master of Dental Surgery – Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopaedics (India) in 2015.He had a private practice and worked as a general dentist in India for almost 10 years. He moved to Canada in September 2015 with his family. His deep love of learning gained him admission into Schulich School of dentistry in 2017 in the Internationally trained dentist program (ITD Program).

He is friendly and calm and has an empathetic approach towards his patients. He carries several years of experience and is comfortable treating patients of all age groups as well as walks of life. His communication skills put patients at ease. He believes in minimally invasive, evidence-based dentistry as well as preventive care.
Outside dentistry, he enjoys health based activities such as tennis, yoga and meditation. He spends his free time gardening at home and loves going for hiking with his family.

Maya Reed (Dental Receptionist)

Maya Reed is one of the dental receptionists at Courtice Family Dentistry. She is currently in her Bachelor of Public Health degree with a minor in Medical Manufacturing, with future hopes on a Doctorate of Dental Surgery. She did a year at George Brown for Denturism giving her a comprehensive understanding of the dental field and experience in patient care. Her background in management doing recreational coordinating and event planning makes her an asset for this team. In her free time, she enjoys going on trails with her dog, and competing in power lifting.

Dhwani Patel (Dental Assistant)

Dhwani Patel is our Dental Assistant at Courtice Family Dentistry. She completed her Bachelors of dental surgery from India in 2019. Her work background of 7 years working in dental offices ,gives her extensive experience to provide comprehensive and personalized care to each patient. Dhwani is a compassionate and efficient Dental Assistant who focuses on patient care. Outside of the clinic Dhwani likes to spend time with her sister in nature and reading mystery novels.

Sarwat Obaid (Receptionist)

Sarwat Obaid is a receptionist at Courtice Family Dentistry. She completed Bachelor of Science in 2003. She has experience working in dental and health care environments for the last 10 years. Her knowledge of patient care and her extensive background enables her to efficiently manage appointments, handle patient inquiries, and ensure a smooth and pleasant experience in our office. When she’s not at Courtice Family Dentistry she enjoys reading non-fiction novels, painting and spending time with her daughter.
